![]() There hasn't been any official statement acknowledging that the issue exists or that it is being addressed, even though it's been a problem for several weeks now. ![]() Have other users noticed this problem since the last Messages update, or is this unique to Nexus 5X phones? The past few days however this has increased to well over half of all messages. Initially the problem was sporadic at best, with only one or two messages out of say, 50 or so not being sent or received. Users who have switched to other messaging apps have had the problem resolved - so this is definitely an Android Messages issue. Users with smart watches or android auto have noticed messages coming through on those devices but not on their phones. As far as I can tell the error code "65536" is all that shows up but only when long-pressing on messages - and even then there's no guarantee that said message actually did or did not go through. There is no indication in the app as to whether a message has gone through or not. Similar to email, some cell phone carriers have implemented. And, of course, SMS messages may fail if an individual’s phone number is incorrect, disconnected, or otherwise invalid. Since the July 18th update users have been reporting missing text messages (both sending and receiving). Other causes of invalid numbers include attempting delivery to landlines landlines cannot receive SMS messages, so delivery will fail. ![]() Some information from the original discussion on r/nexus5x: I'm not sure if it's been brought up here yet but this has gotten way worse the past few days and seems like a major problem for a messaging app to have. (Edit: the August 2nd update also seems to have this problem) ![]() TL DR: It appears that a bug was introduced in the July 18 Android Messages update (v2.3.265) that is causing some text messages to not show up. ![]()
